The Council of Associate Members is a group of younger Athenæum members (those 40 and under) dedicated to supporting the aims and objectives of the Boston Athenæum. Through a variety of events and activities, the Council seeks to help the Associate Members of the Athenæum meet one another, pursue cultural interests, and become involved with the Athenæum and its mission.

Events sponsored or co-sponsored by the Council have included a mock auction hosted by Skinner Auction House, a lecture/wine tasting on Thomas Jefferson and the vineyards of Monticello, a Halloween Masquerade, a show of 3-D images, and a series of lectures about the built environment and the future of Boston.
