Autumn Concerts at the Boston Athenæum
September – December 2012
In celebration of the centennial of the birth of American composer John Cage (1912-1992), pianist Aaron Jackson returns to the Boston Athenæum this fall to offer a series of Saturday programs featuring favorite Cage works for piano. The first two programs place early compositions for the dance alongside two late Number Pieces, and are followed by the first two books of his Etudes Australes, based on maps of the southern sky from Antonín Becvár’s Atlas Australis. The concert series also includes performances by cellist Adrienne Taylor and trumpet player Ben Holmes.
