Athenæum Authors

No one would be surprised to discover that authors often find a welcome retreat at the Boston Athenæum. To celebrate different authors, alternating between former and current members, will be featured on our website. Some will be familiar, even household, names whose works have entered the pantheon of American literature while others may have been forgotten or known only to a small group. Many will have passed on, but some you may find writing or typing in a nook at your retreat for those who “enjoy the humanity of books.”
