Member’s Choice: Poetry and Photographs

Kent Wittenburg

Accompanied by slides of nature photography, Kent Wittenburg will read poems from his recently published book, The Story is Beginning and Here I am Soaking Wet: Poems for Forest Bathing. The book begins with a wacky prose poem of professors casting students for roles in a drama and ends with another prose poem of the protagonist on stage. In between Wittenburg employs humor and nimble wordplay to construct four acts that reflect a life’s journey.
Kent Wittenburg was born in Fort Worth, Texas. He grew up in Concord, New Hampshire, with summers in Marblehead, Massachusetts. He was educated at Hampshire College, Boston University, and the University of Texas at Austin. Retired from a career in information technology research and management, he now lives with his wife in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Over 60 articles related to his technical research are available on ResearchGate. Follow Wittenburg’s photographs and poems on Instagram @kentwittenburg.
