Lance Boos is a Ph.D. Candidate in history at Stony Brook University in New York, where he studies Early America and the Atlantic World. His dissertation examines the musical marketplace in Revolutionary and Early National America by looking at sheet music publishing and collecting, and engaging with themes of print culture, nationalism, music as a commodity, and performance. Lance previously studied American popular music as an undergraduate and worked as a professional bassist for over a decade before returning to academia to combine his interests in music and history.
