Story Time

Join us on Facebook Live at 10:30 AM every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday for LIVE video with our storytellers, Sam. The books and stories are chosen for kids ages 2-6, but they're fun for all ages. These online Story Times are a way for us to continue our commitment to helping people raise young readers during the time of social distancing.

How to Watch Live

To view one of our live online Story Times, visit our Facebook Page at 10:30AM on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday and scroll through our posts until you find the live streaming video. It will probably be toward the top of the list. Click anywhere on the video to open it up and hear audio. If you want to, you can give us a "like" or leave a comment in the chat box on the right side. If you're a little late, don't worry, you can still join the live stream as long as it's running!

If you would like to tell Facebook to notify you when we're live in the future, you can click the bell icon to enable live video notifications (see above). You can also click the Follow button to see more posts from us so our archived Story Time videos are more likely to show up in your feed.

Watch Past Story Times

During this time of social distancing, we are keeping all of our past Story Time videos, given by both Sam and Sos, viewable online.

To watch them, check out this Facebook Video playlist containing all of the Story Times we've done so far!

About Sam and Sos

Samantha Gill

Samantha (Sam) Gill has loved reading books since she can remember! Originally from Medfield, MA, Sam studied literature and economics at Skidmore College. She moved to Seattle, WA after graduation. Working as an early childhood educator, Sam recognized the importance of early literacy for brain development. As reading to children and choosing books for her classroom library were her favorite parts of the work, she decided to move back to Boston for the Simmons University library science masters program where she is currently enrolled. Sam found the Boston Athenaeum where, working as the children's library intern, she can pursue her love of engaging with children during story times, helping families select books to check out, and adding to the library's fabulous collection!

Sostheng Kituyi

When Sostheng (Sos) Kituyi is not spending time with his extraordinary daughter, Myra, he uses his storytelling talents to highlight the everyday wonder of a child’s world. After earning his Bachelors in Mass Communication from Makerere University in Uganda, Sos worked as a reporter. Through his journalism, he traveled throughout 43 African countries exposing crime and corruption. A few years ago, Sos moved to the US where he pursues his passion of bringing joy to children through his stories as well as with his touring band Puma and Zuma!
