About the Children's Library

The Children’s Library serves the children of Boston Athenæum members from their earliest days through adolescence. Located on the first floor of the building, the Children’s Library fills two adjoining spaces. The Chris Library Preschool Room is home to a curated selection of board books and picture books, and also features an aquarium and cozy windowseats. The C. A. Coolidge Young Readers Room contains children's and young adult contemporary fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks, and magazines, and provides reading and study space.
